The standard blue chart g2 built-in map format on all the new Garmin plotters features worldwide satellite imagery for a realistic "view from space" chart depiction. With optional g2 Vision card technology, these images are upgraded to super high-detail aerial map imagery. It's the most realistic mapping display you've ever seen on a chartplotter. You can also "navigate on the picture" with a clear dynamic presentation of your boat's current position. Other optional features you get with BlueChart g2 Vision cards include:

Auto Guidance - The optional Auto Guidance technology that is included in g2 Vision cards, searches all the chart features and obstructions to suggest the best routes for navigation.

True 3D-view mapping - Garmin's newest chartplotters will show true 3D "mariner's eye" topside view or "fish eye" underwater view navigation perspective. It's a great feature to have when trying to navigate around shoals, reefs, bridges, channels, etc.

"Real Picture" Photo Reference - A growing database of overhead and aerial view photography gives mariners a realistic visual overview of harbors, marinas, waterways and other points of reference. The photos make it easy to locate nearby fuel pumps, dining spots, lodging and other shore-side facilities - while a built-in POI (points-of-interest) database lets you look up more detailed information such as phone numbers and addresses.
